The question was posed by one of my "friends" on Facebook, what was Facebook's purpose--or at minimum should, what is being posted be taken so literal, or is it just clean fun? Well, my response (give or take) was that everyone has a different intent as to why they use Facebook, which I whole-heartedly believed at the time of the post.
However, as of recent, I've been in deep thought about connectivity and it's purpose, as well as it's contribution to overall good health--it dawned on me, that clearly there's a universal reason that people, flock to Facebook. And, there is an equally important (and still, universal) reason why people participate in it--everyone (either subconsciously or consciously) is seeking to be connected.
Even, if you're simply networking to promote your next party, cd, or whatever the case may be, you're seeking to be connected with more people. I'm wondering, beyond monetary gain (for those conducting business on Facebook), if there is anything else that's moving about the experiences shared on this addictive, haven/hell?
I tell you there is something innately embedded within us, that yearns to be connected. As, I continue to explore and research connectivity...I'll be sure to post my findings.
Namaste...
